Poached pears with chocolate drizzle

Ingredients:
2 largeBosc pears, firm
3 tbspWhite wine
3 tbspApple juice
1/2 tspVanilla extract
1/4 tspCinnamon
1 dashAllspice
1 dashNutmeg
1 tspCornstarch
1/3 cupSemisweet chocolate chips
1 tspWater
Procedures:
1Core pears & cut each pear into 8 sections lengthwise.
2Combine wine, juice, vanilla & spices in a saucepan.
3Put in the pears & bring to a simmer.
4Cover & simmer over low heat until the pears are just fork- tender.
5Combine cornstarch with enough water to dissolve it.
6Stir into the saucepan liquid until thickened.
7Remove from heat.
8& cool until just warm.
9Just before serving, combine chocolate chips & water in the top of a double boiler (mark"s note: or drop a steaming dish into a pot of water).
10Heat until the chocolate is smoothly melted.
11Arrange pear slices in two dessert bowls.
12Divide the chocolate between them & drizzle over the pears in a zig-zag pattern.
13Serve at once.
