| 1 | Preheat oven to 350f(180c). |
| 2 | Peel, core and slice pears. |
| 3 | In a large skillet heat butter and sugar on medium heat. |
| 4 | Add pears and saute until coated with butter mixture. |
| 5 | Add lemon juice and rind. |
| 6 | Reserve. |
| 7 | Break cookies up into bite-sized pieces. |
| 8 | Arrange half of cookies in a buttered 11x7 (2 liter) baking dish. |
| 9 | Cover with half of pear mixture. |
| 10 | Pour on half of the cream. |
| 11 | Add remaining cookies, pears and cream. |
| 12 | Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter. |
| 13 | Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until pears are soft and mixture is bubbling. |
| 14 | Serve with a hungarian pear liqueur or a whisky based liquer. |
| 15 | An easy dessert than can be made with either apples or pears. |
| 16 | Chop cookies in a food processor or by hand but keep the texture slightly chunky. |
