Ingredients:
16 Stewed California dried figs
3 cupMilk
1 Envelope unflavored gelatin
1/2 cupSugar
2 tspInstant coffee
1 tspCinnamon
1 packChocolate pudding
1 tspVanilla
1/2 cupSlivered toasted almonds
1/2 cupToasted whole almonds
1 9-inch baked pie shell
1 cupHeavy cream, whipped
-sweetened, vanilla-flavored
Procedures:
1Drain stewed figs thoroughly.
2Set aside several figs to garnish pie top.
3Cut up remaining figs into small bits, discarding stems.
4In ?cup of the milk, dissolve the gelatin.
5Place remaining milk in saucepan with coffee, sugar, cinnamon and package of chocolate pudding.
6Stir over low heat until pudding thickens and bubbles up.
7Stir in the gelatin.
8Cool.
9Then add vanilla and toasted, slivered almonds.
10Pour into pie shell and chill.
11Top with sweetened, vanilla-flavored whipped cream.
12Dry the whole figs carefully and use with toasted whole almonds to garnish pie top.
