Ingredients:
20 ozFrozen, chopped broccoli
-OR-
1 1/2 lbsFresh broccoli
1/4 cupButter
3 tbspFlour
1 tbspPowdered chicken stock base
1 1/2 cupMilk
1/4 cupWater
1/4 cupButter
1 cupHerb stuffing mix
1 cupCoarsely chopped hazelnuts
-(roasted Oregon hazelnuts)
Procedures:
1Cook broccoli until tender, drain thoroughly; put into a buttered 1-?quart casserole.
2In a saucepan, melt ?cup butter, blend in flour and chicken stock base to make a smooth paste.
3Gradually add milk and cook, stirring frequently until thick and smooth.
4Mix into broccoli.
5Heat water and remaining ?cup butter until butter melts; pour over stuffing mix and hazelnuts and toss.
6Top broccoli with hazelnut mixture.
7Bake uncovered at 400°F for 20 minutes.
