Ingredients:

| each | Med Acorn squash | | 1
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1/4
| tsp | Cloves | | 1/4
| cup | Butter | | 3/4
| cup | Maple syrup | | 1/2
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 2
| each | Bacon, quartered |

Procedures:
| 1 | A christmas favorite. | | 2 | Cut each squash in half; remove seeds and fibers. | | 3 | Arrange the halves, cut side up in a large shallow baking pan. | | 4 | In a small bowl, blend together the syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and butter. | | 5 | Spoon about 2 tbsp of the mixture into the hollow of each squash. | | 6 | Top with a piece of bacon. | | 7 | Add boiling water to pan, about 1 inch deep. | | 8 | Bake in a preheated 350f oven until tender, about 1 hour. |
