Pasta with spicy pea sauce

Ingredients:
1 cupYellow split peas
1/2 tbspOlive oil
1/2 Garlic clove
1/8 tspChilli powder
1/4 tspTurmeric
1/4 tspGround coriander
1/2 tspGround allspice
1/8 cupLemon juice
1 tspLemon rind
250 gramsFresh fettucine
Fresh coriander sprigs
Procedures:
1Preparation: crush the garlic clove and chop the onion.
2Place the peas in a large pan.
3Cover with cold water.
4Bring to the boil and boil, uncovered for 25 minutes.
5Drain.
6Heat oil in a pan.
7Add onion and garlic and cook over a low heat for 2 minutes.
8Add the spices , stirring for 2 minutes.
9Add the well drained peas, lemon juice and rind.
10Stir to combine and cook over a low heat for 8-10 minutes.
11Cook the pasta in a large quantity of boiling water until just tender.
12Drain and place on a large serving plate.
13Pour sauce over the pasta and garnish with the coriander leaves.
14Serve immediately.
