Ingredients:
2 largeEgg whites, room temp
1/8 tspSalt
1/8 tspCream of tartar
1/2 cupSugar
2 Peppermint candies, crushed
Procedures:
1Arrange oven racks to divide oven in thirds.
2Heat to 225 deg f.
3Line two cookie sheets with foil.
4In a large bowl, beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until peaks appear.
5Gradually add sugar and beat at medium speed for 5 to 6 minutes.
6Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
7Sprinkle with crushed candy.
8Bake 1 ?hours.
9Meringues should look dry and white.
10Turn off oven.
11Keep door ajar and let meringues cool.
12Loosen from foil with metal spatula.
13Store loosely covered in a dry place.
