Ingredients:
| 1/2
| lbs | Mushrooms, sliced | | 4
| tbsp | Margarine | | | Salt & pepper | | 2
| tbsp | Sweet wine or sherry | | 1
| small | Onion, chopped | | 1
| each | Garlic clove, minced | | 2
| tbsp | Olive oil | | 1 1/2
| cup | Long grain rice | | 1
| med | Breen bell pepper, diced | | 4
| med | Tomatoes, chopped | | 3
| cup | Hot water | | 3
| each | Whole cloves | | 1
| each | Bay leaf | | 1
| dash | Cayenne | | | Parsley for garnish |

Procedures:
| 1 | Saute mushrooms in 2 tb margarine for a few minutes. | | 2 | Add salt & pepper. | | 3 | Cover & remove from heat. | | 4 | Saute the onion & garlic in the oil & remaining margarine. | | 5 | Raise heat a little & add the rice, stirring till well coated. | | 6 | Add green pepper, tomatoes, hot water, cloves, bay leaf, cayenne, mushrooms & stir. | | 7 | Cover, reduce heat & simmer for 15 minutes. | | 8 | Add wine after about 10 minutes. | | 9 | Remove cloves & bay leaf & sprinkle with parsley before serving. | | 10 | Vera gewanter, "a passion for vegetables" |
