| large | Onion, finely chopped | | 1
| cup | Sliced fresh mushrooms | | 2
| cup | Vegetable stock | | 2
| cup | Cooked or canned pumpkin | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1/4
| tsp | Salt, -=OR=- | | 1
| tsp | Tamari | | 1/4
| tsp | Black pepper | | | Minced fresh parsley | | | Minced fresh chives |

Procedures:
| 1 | Soak dried porcini and shiitake mushrooms in hot water for 20 minutes. | | 2 | Chop rehydrated mushrooms and reserve soaking liquid. | | 3 | Saute chopped onion and sliced fresh mushrooms and soaking liquid and vegetable stock. | | 4 | add pumpkin, nutmeg, salt or tamari and black pepper. | | 5 | Cook over medium heat and stir until heated through. | | 6 | Garnish with parsley and chives. | | 7 | "the associated press" |
