Ingredients:

| cup | Slivered almonds | | 1/3
| cup | Chopped walnuts | | 6
| tbsp | Cider vinegar | | 2
| tbsp | Sugar | | 1
| | Large tart apple | | 1
| tbsp | Salad oil | | 1
| | Large onion, thinly sliced | | 1
| | Garlic clove, pressed/minced | | 1/2
| tsp | Caraway seed | | 4
| cup | Finely shredded red cabbage | | | Salt |

Procedures:
| 1 | In a 10-12" frying pan over medium heat, stir nuts until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. | | 2 | Remove from pan; set aside.?In a bowl, mix ?cup vinegar and the sugar. | | 3 | Core apple and cut into ? cubes; stir into vinegar mixture.?Add oil, onion, garlic, and caraway to frying pan; stir over high heat until onion is limp, 4-5 minutes. | | 4 | Add cabbage and remaining 2 tablespoons vinegar; stir until cabbage barely wilts, about 2 minutes. | | 5 | Pour into a shallow bowl. | | 6 | Top with apple mixture and nuts; mix. | | 7 | Add salt to taste |
