Blue-ribbon apple cake (taste of home)

Ingredients:
3 cupAll-purpose flour
2 1/4 cupGranulated sugar, divided
1 tbspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
4 Eggs
1 cupVegetable oil
1/3 cupOrange juice
2 1/2 tspVanilla extract
4 medBaking apples, peeled and
- thinly sliced
2 tspGround cinnamon
Confectioners' sugar
Procedures:
1In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 2 cups sugar, baking powder and salt.
2Combine eggs, oil, orange juice and vanilla; add to flour mixture and mix well.
3in another bowl, toss apples with cinnamon and remaining sugar.
4Spread a third of the batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan.
5Top with half the apples.
6Repeat layers.
7Carefully spread remaining batter over apples.
8Bake at 350°F8°F.
9For 55 to 65 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean.
10Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack; cool.
11Dust with confectioners" sugar.
