Ingredients:
8 tbspSugar
1/4 cupButter or margarine
2 Large eggs
1 cupUnbleached all-purpose flour
1 tspCinnamon
1/2 tspBaking soda
1/4 tspGround cloves
1/4 tspGround nutmeg
1/3 cupButter/sour milk
1/2 cupJam, blackberry seedless
1/4 cupWalnuts, chopped
2 tbspButter or margarine
1/2 cupBrown sugar, packed
3 tbspMilk
1 3/4 cupSifted powdered sugar
Procedures:
1Fat grams per serving: approx. cook time: :25 cream together sugar and butter or margarine.
2Beat in eggs.
3Stir together flour, and spices; add to creamed mixture alternately with butter/sour milk, beating til well blended after each addition.
4Fold in blackberry jam or preserves and nuts leaving swirls of jam.
5(do not overmix) turn into greased and lightly floured 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
6Bake at 350 °F.
7Oven 25 minutes or until done.
8Cool completely.
9Frost with carmel icing.
10Carmel icing: in small saucepan, melt butter or margarine; stir in brown sugar.
11Cook stirring constantly, til mixture bubbles; remove from heat.
12Cool 5 minutes.
13Stir in milk and blend in powdered sugar; beat til spreading consistancy is reached.
