Basic old fashioned pound cake

Ingredients:
1 cupMargarine, room temperature
1 1/2 cupSugar
5 Eggs, room temperature
1 1/2 tspVanilla
1/2 tspSalt
2 cupCake flour or 1 ?c all -
Purpose flour
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 325 deg f.
2Lightly grease a 9 x 5 x 3 bread pan.
3Beat margarine until a bowl until smooth, about 30 seconds.
4With mixer on low speed, gradually add sugar.
5Increase speed to high and beat until light and fluffy.
6With mixer on still on high, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
7Add vanilla and salt and beat until very pale in color and increased in volume.
8With a rubber spatula mix in flour, about a third of a cup at a time until smooth.
9Scrape batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour 1nd 15 minutes or until pick inserted in middle comes out clean.
10Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes.
11Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
12Per serving: 223 calories, 3 g protein, 26 g carbs, 12 g fat, 87 mg chol, 80 mg sodium.
