Basic yellow cake

Ingredients:
3/4 cupMargarin, butter or
-shortening
1 1/2 cupGranulated sugar
3 Eggs
3/4 cupMilk
1 tbspAlmond extract
2 1/4 cupCake flour
2 1/2 tbspBaking powder
3/4 tbspSalt
Procedures:
1Grease and flour a 10" round pan.
2Preheat oven to 375°F.
3Place all ingredients in bowl of electric mixer.
4Mix on low speed until thoroughly combined, scraping bowl frequently.
5Increase speed to medium and beat for four minutes.
6Pour into pan; smooth top of batter.
7Bake 25-30 minutes, until cake tests done.
8Do not overbake.
9Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes, then remove cake from pan and continue cooling on rack.
