Banana cream cake with strawberry cream filling

Ingredients:
CAKE
3 cupSifted flour
1 tbspBaking powder
1 tspSalt
1/2 tspAlmond extract
1 1/2 tspVanilla
1/2 tspBanana extract
1 1/2 cupSugar
2 cupHeavy cream
SIMPLE SYRUP
1/3 cupSugar
1/3 cupWater
4 tbspCreme de banana
STRAWBERRY FILLING
1 1/2 cupWhipping cream
3/4 cupMashed fresh strawberries
1 tspGrand Marnier
3 tbspPowdered sugar
1 largeBanana, sliced
Procedures:
1Cake: sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
2Beat eggs until light and foamy.
3Add flavorings.
4Add sugar gradually.
5Add flour mixture alternately with cream, beating after each addition until just smooth.
6Pour batter into two 9" greased round cake pans and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 40 minutes or until done.
7Cool on racks and then brush with simple syrup.
8Simple syrup: combine sugar and water in a heavy small saucepan.
9Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
10Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
11Stir in creme de banana.
12Strawberry frosting: whip cream in large chilled bowl on low speed until soft peaks form.
13Add grand marnier and sugar and beat on high speed until spreading consistency.
14Fold in mashed strawberries.
15Spread this mixture between layers and add sliced banana on top of bottom layer.
16Add remaining mixture on top and sides of cake.
