Ingredients:

2 Eggs, separated
1 1/3 cupSugar
2 cupAll purpose flour
1 tspBaking powder
1 tspBaking soda
1 tspSalt
1/3 cupOil
1 cupMashed ripe bananas
2/3 cupButtermilk
1 tspVanilla extract
1/2 cupChopped nuts
Whipped cream
Sliced bananas, for garnish
Procedures:
1Grease two 8-in round pans well and dust with flour.
2Beat egg whites until frothy.
3Gradually beat in 1/3 c of sugar.
4Continue beating until very stiff and glossy.
5Sift remaining sugar, flour, baking powder, soda and salt into another bowl.
6Add oil, mased bananas, half of buttermilk and vanilla extract.
7Beat 1 minute at medium speed on mixer.
8Scrape sides and bottom of bowl constantly.
9Add remaining buttermilk and egg yolks.
10Beat 1 more minute.
11Fold in beaten egg whites.
12Fold nuts in gently.
13Pour into prepared pans.
14Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.
15Cool.
16Frost with whipped cream.
17Decorate with sliced bananas.
