Apfeltorte (apple cake)

Ingredients:
8 Small apples
1/2 cupRaisins
2 tspRum or rum extract
3/4 cupSugar, plus 3 tbsp, divided
1 tspChocolate, grated
3/4 cupButter or margarine, plus 2
-sp, divided
1 tspVanilla
3 Eggs
1 tspLemon extract
1 1/4 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspCinnamon
3 tspAlmonds, ground
Apricot jam
Powdered sugar, sifted
Procedures:
1Filling: peel and core apples.
2Combine raisins, rum, 1 tablespoon of the sugar and the grated chocolate in small saucepan.
3Bring to boil.
4Set aside while preparing batter.
5Batter: preheat oven to 350 degrees.
6Lightly grease bottom of 10 ? springform pan.
7Cream ?cup of the butter, ?cup of the sugar and vanilla together.
8Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, and lemon extract, beating until light and fluffy.
9Sift flour, baking powder and cinnamon together.
10Gradually beat into creamed mixture.
11Turn batter into prepared pan; arrange apples on top.
12Fill apple centers with raisin mixture.
13Dot with 2 teaspoons of the butter.
14Sprinkle with mixture of ground almonds and remaining 2 tablespoons sugar.
15Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer until apples are tender.
16Remove from oven.
17Brush jam over apple opening and sprinkle icing sugar over cake portion.
