Asparagus cream soup

Ingredients:
4 tbspCRISCO Shortening
1/2 cupChopped onion
4 packFrozen cut asparagus (10 oz)
2 cupChicken broth
8 Egg yolks, slightly beaten
-(use clean, uncracked eggs)
5 cupMilk
2 tbspSalt
1/2 tbspPepper
8 dropHot pepper sauce
Procedures:
1In medium saucepan melt crisco; add onion and cook until tender.
2Add frozen asparagus and chicken broth; cook uncovered 10 minutes over high heat.
3Transfer mixture to blender and puree.
4(or force mixture through a find wire sieve).
5Add beaten egg yolks.
6Return mixture to saucepan.
7Stir in milk, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce.
8Reheat before serving; do not boil.
9makes 3 quarts.
