Artichoke oyster soup

Ingredients:
6 tbspButter, melted
1/2 cupShallots (chopped fine)
1/4 tbspThyme
1 Bay leaf
1/2 tbspCayenne pepper
2 tbspFlour
14 ozChicken broth
-(more or less won't hurt)
4 cupOysters, drained, reserve
-liquid (less, to taste)
14 ozArtichoke hearts, cooked
2 tbspSalt
1/4 tbspTabasco
1/2 cupWhipping cream
3 tbspParsley (chopped, fresh)
Procedures:
1In a 3-quart casserole, melt butter and saute shallots.
2When shallots are translucent, add thyme, bay leaf and cayenne pepper.
3Add flour and whisk well.
4Add broth, oyster water, artichoke hearts, salt and tabasco.
5Bring to a boil.
6Add oysters and parsley.
7Simmer on medium, partly covered, for exactly 5 minutes.
8Add whipped cream and serve immediately.
