| tbsp | Cornstarch | | 1
| tsp | Crushed basil | | 1
| tsp | Sugar | | 2
| large | Onions, sliced | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| can | Whole tomatoes (16 oz.) | | 1/2
| tsp | Beau Monde seasoning | | 1
| tsp | Water |

Procedures:
| 1 | Trim fat from 1 chop. | | 2 | Rub fat over bottom of skillet on med heat. | | 3 | Dirscard fat. | | 4 | Brown chops on both sides. | | 5 | Add onion, green pepper, tomatoes and their liquid, basil, beau monde seasoning, salt and sugar. | | 6 | Boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 45 min. remove chops to serving dish. | | 7 | Blend cornstarch and water in cup until smooth, gradually stir into liquid and cook until thickened, abt. | | 8 | 2-3 min. courtesy telephone pioneers billspalding *p crbr 38 a |
