Ingredients:
1 tspCooking oil
8 ozMeat, cut in strips (beef
-chicken, or other)
1 ozTo 2 oz black olives
1 ozTo 2 oz green olives with
-pimento
4 largeTo 6 lg mushrooms, sliced
-or 1 small can (optional)
8 ozCan tomato sauce
2 ozTo 3 oz barbeque sauce
-(Bullseye is my choice)
1 cupRice
2 cupWater
1 1/2 tbspButter or margarine
Procedures:
1Mother murphy"s barbequed rice
2main dish makes 4 servings
3begin by preparing rice, bringing to a rolling boil in water, then covering and cooking on low for 50 minutes (more or less).
4Stir in butter until melted.
5about half-way through the 50 minutes, begin the sauce.
6Brown meat in oil.
7Combine all other ingredients with meat, let simmer 10 minutes.
8Serve over rice.
9the meat may be flavored while cooking with garlic or other spices to taste.
10It is not recommended that any spices be added to the sauce with the other ingredients after the meat is cooked.
11No additional salt should be added, as there is plenty in the green olives.
