| 1 | Soften yeast in lukewarm water with a pinch of sugar. |
| 2 | Heat milk, sugar, salt and shortening until melted. |
| 3 | Pour into a bowl until lukewarm, add yeast and eggs, mix well. |
| 4 | Add flour and knead. |
| 5 | Place in greased bowl and let rise 1 ?hrs. |
| 6 | when light, move bowl to a ready place near the stove or deep-fat fryer. |
| 7 | Heat fryer 400 degrees. |
| 8 | Add second batch of shortening, about 3-4 inches deep. |
| 9 | Take a handful of dough. |
| 10 | Stretch it out as much as you can between your hands. |
| 11 | Drop slowly into hot shortening. |
| 12 | Cook "til brown. |
| 13 | Turn over, cook other side till done. |
| 14 | Drain on paper towels. |
| 15 | Sprinkle sugar on top while still warm. |
