| 1 | 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ?cup chopped nuts (optional) heat oven to 325°F. |
| 2 | Grease 9-inch square baking pan. |
| 3 | In bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. |
| 4 | In medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water. |
| 5 | Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to boil. |
| 6 | Remove from heat; immediately add 1 cup chocolate chips, stirring until melted. |
| 7 | Stir in eggs and vanilla until blended. |
| 8 | Gradually add flour mixture, blending well. |
| 9 | Stir in remaining 1 cup chips and nuts, if desired. |
| 10 | Pour batter into prepared pan. |
| 11 | Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. |
| 12 | Cool completely in pan on wire rack. |
| 13 | Cut into squares. |
| 14 | About 1-?dozen brownies. |
