| 1 | Butter and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. |
| 2 | In a saucepan heat butter and corn syrup until butter is melted. |
| 3 | Stir in chocolate chips. |
| 4 | Stir until melted. |
| 5 | Add sugar and eggs. |
| 6 | Stir until well blended. |
| 7 | Stir in vanilla, flour and nuts. |
| 8 | Pour batter into pan. |
| 9 | Bake at 35o for 30 minutes, until center springs back when touched. |
| 10 | Cool in pan for 10 minutes. |
| 11 | Turn out of pan onto a rack. |
| 12 | For glaze, combine chocolate chips, butter and corn syrup in saucepan. |
| 13 | Stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. |
| 14 | Remove from heat. |
| 15 | Add vanilla. |
| 16 | Frost top and sides of torte. |
| 17 | Chill until set. |
| 18 | Garnish with sliced strawberries. |
| 19 | Cut into wedges. serve. |
