Ingredients:
2 cupSugar
1/2 cupWater
1/2 cupCorn syrup
1/4 tspCream of tartar
1/2 tspPeppermint flavoring
1 Food coloring
1/2 tspWintergreen flavoring
Procedures:
1Place sugar, water, corn syrup and cream of tartar in saucepan.
2Boil to soft ball stage.
3Remove from heat.
4Divide into two equal parts.
5Add peppermint flavoring to one part witha few drops of green food coloring.
6To remaining half, add wintergreen with a few frops of red food coloring.
7Beat each portion until creamy.
8Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
9If candy becomes too hard to handle, place in a pan of hot water to soften.
10To make licorice flavored mints, add ?teaspoon anise and a few drops of yellow food coloring or leave white.
11Yield: 4 dozen.
