Saltwater taffy (microwave)

Ingredients:
2 tbspButter
2 tspButter
2 cupSugar
1 tspSalt
1 cupLight corn syrup
1 tspVanilla extract
Food coloring as desired
Procedures:
1Lightly butter a jelly-roll pan.
2In a 3-quart microwave-safe casserole with high sides, mix sugar, salt, syrup, and 1 cup hot water.
3Cook on high until boiling, about 8 minutes.
4Stir.
5Cook until mixture reaches 260f on a candy thermometer, about 15 to 20 minutes.
6When the bubbling stops, stir in 2 tablespoons butter, the vanilla, and food color.
7Pour into prepared pan.
8Cool about 5 minutes.
9Lightly butter hands; gather one sixth of taffy into a ball.
10Pull until taffy holds its shape in a ?inch thick strand.
11With buttered shears, cut into 1-inch lengths.
12Wrap each piece in plastic wrap.
13Note: other flavorings can be used.
14Add according to taste.
15Makes 1 ?pounds.
