Ingredients:
CRUST
2/3 cupButter
1/4 cupPure maple syrup
1/2 cupCream cheese
1 eachEgg
1 tbspOrange rind
1 tspVanilla
2 1/4 cupUnbleached flour
1/2 tspBaking powder
FILLING
2 lbsGreen apples
TOPPING
1/2 cupSour cream
1/4 cupPure maple syrup
2 tbspLemon juice
1/4 tspNutmeg
Procedures:
1For the crust, blend together butter, maple syrup, cream cheese, egg, orange rind and vanilla.
2Add flour and baking powder.
3Roll out crust on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin.
4This dough is soft.
5Roll to 1/3-inch thickness.
6Fit or pat the dough into 7-inch pie plate.
7Cut apples into 1/8-inch slices and arrange in a circular pattern on dough in pie plate.
8Refrigerate ?hour.
9Combine sour cream, maple syrup and lemon juice.
10Spoon over chilled apples.
11Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
12Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes. serves
