Almond macaroon cherry pie

Ingredients:
FOR THE PIE
1 Pie shell, 9 inch, unbaked
21 ozCherry pie filling
1/2 tspCinnamon
1/8 tspSalt (optional)
1 tspLemon juice
FOR THE TOPPING
1 cupCoconut
1/2 cupAlmonds, sliced
1/4 cupSugar
1/8 tspSalt (optional)
1/4 cupMilk
1 tbspButter, melted
1/4 tspAlmond extract
1 Egg, beaten
Procedures:
1Preheat oven to 400°F.
2Roll out pie pastry and place in 9 inch pie pan.
3In large bowl, combine pie filling, cinnamon, salt and lemon juice.
4Mix lightly.
5Spoon into crust-lined pie pan.
6Bake 20 minutes.
7Meanwhile, combine all topping ingredients in medium bowl and mix until blended.
8Remove pie from oven after 20 minutes, spread topping evenly over surface, and return pie to oven.
9Bake an additional 15 to 30 minutes, or until crust and topping are golden brown
