Pomegranate soup

Ingredients:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 lbsGround beef
1 eachSmall onion, grated
1/4 tspCinnamon
1/4 tspPepper
1/4 tspSalt
8 cupWater
2 tspSalt
1/2 cupRice
1 cupSpinach, chopped
1 cupParsley, chopped
1/2 cupGreen onions, chopped
1 1/2 cupPomegranate seeds or
1 cupPomegranate juice
1/3 cupSugar
1 tbspLime juice (optional)
SPICE FOR SOUP
1 tbspDried mint
1/4 tspCinnamon
1/4 tspPepper
PREPARATION
Procedures:
1Put the meat in a bowl.
2Add grated onions and seasoning and mix well.
3Make meat balls the size of walnuts.
4Put water in a 3 qt pot.
5Add salt and rice and let cook for 15 minutes.
6Add vegetables and let cook for another 15 minutes.
7Cut fresh pomegranate and take out the seeds to make about 1 ?cups.
8Add meat balls, pomegranate seeds, and sugar to the soup and let cook for another 20 minutes on a low fire or until the meat is done.
9Rub dried mint in the palm of your hands to make it powdery.
10Add cinnamon and pepper to the mint.
11Add this to the soup just before removing it from the fire.
12Taste soup, and if needed add more salt and lime juice for the right flavoring.
13If the pomegranate is sweet it will require lime juice.
14This is a popular winter soup.
