Ingredients:
5 lbsRump roast
2 Bay leaves
1 Sm Onion
1/4 cupBacon drippings ** or -
-Shortening
Ginger
1 Salt & pepper
5 Cloves
1 cupWater
Procedures:
1Have roast tied so as to hold shape.
2Melt shortening in heavy iron skillet.
3Season the meat with the ginger, salt and pepper, and sear well on all sides.
4Add the bay leaves, cloves, onion and water, cover tightly, and let simmer about 4-?hours
