Gold cake (gelb kuchen)

Ingredients:
6 ea Egg white
3/4 cupSugar, fine granulated
1/2 tspCream of tartar
3 ea Egg yolk
1/2 cupFlour, pastry
1/2 tspVanilla
Procedures:
1Sift the flour 3 times.
2Beat the yolks of the eggs until light, add the sugar which has been sifted several times and beat with eggs until mixture is creamy.
3Beat the whites of eggs until stiff adding the cream of tartar when partly beaten.
4Combine the egg mixtures and fold in gently the sifted flour, then the vanilla.
5Do not beat.
6Pour into a well-buttered loaf pan which has been sprinkled lightly with flour.
7Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
8Increase heat to 400°F and bake about 40 minutes
