Ingredients:
1 1/4 cupUnsifted flour
2 tbspSugar
1 tspBaking soda
3/4 tspBaking powder
1/4 tspSalt
1 Egg
3/4 cupMilk
Procedures:

2) about 1 quart - corn oil confectioners sugar stir together first 5 ingredients.
3Mix egg and milk; add to flour mixture.
4Stir until batter is smooth.
5Pour oil into skillet (no more than 1/3 full).
6Heat to 375 degrees.
7An electric fry pan is excellent for this.
8Holding forefinger over end of funnel, pour ?cup into funnel.
9Place over hot oil and remove finger to let batter flow.
10As batter flows, move funnel in a circle to form a spiral cake.
11Fry, turning once, 2 minutes or until golden brown.
12Drain and sprinkle with sugar.
13Repeat.
14Makes enough for 6 funnel cakes.
15Note: instead of the sugar, try drizzling with a thin icing and sprinkle with chopped nuts
