Ingredients:
2 cupFlour
1/2 cupShortening
1 xFruit, stewed
1 tspSalt
1/3 cupWater, cold
Procedures:
1Sift the flour and salt together, cut in the shortening and mix with hands.
2Add water.
3Roll out about 1/8 inch thick on a floured board.
4Cut with a large cookie cutter about 4 inches in diameter.
5In each round, place 1 ?tbsp sweetened mashed fruit (dried apricots, peaches, prunes or thick apple sauce).
6Moisten edges with cold water, fold to make semi-circle and press edges together with a fork.
7Fry in deep fat
