Ingredients:

| cup | Sugar | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1

| cup | Yeast | | 1/2
| cup | Water, warm | | | 2 ea Egg | | 1
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| cup | Lard | | 1/2
| cup | Other shortening | | 1
| x | *dissolved in: | | 1
| x | Flour |

Procedures:
| 1 | Boil the pared potatoes in enough water to cover them. | | 2 | Drain off the potato water and save. | | 3 | Mash the potatoes and beat lightly. | | 4 | Measure the potato water and add more water, if necessary, to make 1 ?pints. | | 5 | Combine with the rest of the ingredients, using enough flour to make a rather stiff batter. | | 6 | Cover and let rise in a warm place until morning. | | 7 | Knead in the morning, adding as much flour as is necessary. | | 8 | Let rise again. | | 9 | Spread on well-greased tins and when light (about 1-?hours) brush melted butter over top. | | 10 | Strew with "rivels" made by combining ?cup sugar, ?cup flour, and 2 tbsp butter |
