Ingredients:
2 tbspButter or margarine
1 tspGrated onion
1 tbspAll-purpose flour
1/2 cupChicken broth
1/2 cupHalf-and-half
1/4 tspSalt
1/8 tspWhite pepper
Dash ground thyme
Procedures:
1Melt butter in a 1-quart glass measuring pitcher in microwave oven (about 30 seconds at high).
2Add onion and flour; mix well.
3Add broth and half-and-half gradually, stirring constantly.
4Cook uncovered 5 minutes at high, or until thickened; stir after 2 minutes, then every 30 seconds.
5Remove from oven; stir in seasonings.
6Yield: about 1 cup.
